I don't think it's putting all of our eggs in one basket if we're filling in a lost event with another venue. I think it's good that we have the ability to do that.

We definitely need another basket, but we need to utilize our profitable basket more than the basket that keeps dropping eggs

Probably a better post for the committee forum, but losing a few hundred dollars is much less concerning than going to a 9 event season.

Yes, let's keep financial discussions and general bitching off the public forum... Thanks.

Thank you all for that thought. I do not like the aspect of a site loss. Much less not being able to run the next season. I know I bitch about a few things but this is not one of them. Man we need to keep what we have. Any thing around Greenville?

We used to run at MECO in Greenville years ago. I believe we have outgrown that lot and our contact there hasn't been around in a long time.

Cory, you have been incredible all of this year, and most people probably don't realize you are as fast as you are on Dunlop Z2 * specs with no front sway bar or exhaust on your mazdaspeed miata. You are a fine driver for sure! It has been a pleasure to run with you and chat with you this year.

Just know you have an open seat in my MR2 if you decide you want to make it next month; let me know! Sounds like a fun festival.

Good job on the run too btw!

I felt like we had some decent courses at Elizabethton High School but that's been a long time ago.

My point is more we need to keep other options open in case Bristol changes their mind. I'm glad we can reschedule a cancelled event there, but we are one management change away from not being able to run that site. It has happened at Bristol before, and has happened at other lots in the past (PSTCC, Adesa). Its just the nature of autocross.

While I agree with most of that Ryan, BMS paved that rough section at my request and I told them we could do national events there if they did and they want as many and as much motorsports activity as they can get at their site and it may come down to being our only site besides smokies as it seems already headed that way.

They were big on doing a Friday night "Street Fights" autocross series about ten years ago. They changed their mind for reasons known only to them and stopped doing it, and they weren't interested in dealing with us either for a while.

I'm not picking on Bristol, but unless we start bringing in NASCAR / NHRA money we are small potatoes to them. Honestly, thats going to be the case of any lot we rent, as autocross isn't the main reason they have their parking lot in the first place.

We just don't need to run all our events at one lot, no matter how good the pavement is.

If I were picking the sites for next year it would be 8 at BMS and 2 at smokies as it is all about running at the best lot and having great courses and the word will get out and BMS will pick up numbers as long as we do fast flowing courses as that is why I started in the first place because of the speed. The rest of it took care of itself and I have been hooked every since, but if my first couple experiences were on a slow tight course, I would not have come back. BMS gives us options that smokies can't and no other lot in our region besides BMS gives us that ability.
