My Best Run......the drama leading up to this run was like non I had ever experience in AutoCross. I (Irresponsibly) had been lazy and put Generator Gas in one of the cans we use for Race Gas. I put a piece of tape around the handle and put a different "neck" on the can.......but then my dumb ass forgot to tell anyone else. When we were prepping the car for morning runs, Randall fueled the car like he always does.....with 93 rather than C-16. Well. I go out on my first run and the car doesn't feel quite right...and when I come through the finish and caught a whiff of gasoline.....rather than C-16 and it hit me.

So we get to grid, I tell the opps steward what happened and rush the car back to paddock, jack up the rear of the car and break loose the line on the fuel pressure regulator, Bryan Hayes got in the car and operated the fuel pump and we drained all the "93 / C-16" Mixture out of the car. And while we were doing that, dad was replacing the rear wheel stud I broke while I was removing the pass side wheel to get to the fuel system.

We got all that replaced, put 5 gal of fresh C-16 in her and I drove quickly back to grid and as I was pulling in the grid worker tells me our Mechanical is over and I have 50 seconds to present to the line to make my run......as I am pulling to the line I'm putting on my hat and trying to get buckled up.....which I failed to do. So I go out, run a 36.1 before I am able to catch my breath and still trying to get my head back into driving mode.

High Rez video to be uploaded later.....for now......enjoy the RaceKeepr stuff.

Here's Mark's last run in my car in Session 2 on Friday that moved him from ninth to third in the CAM-C standings:

The finish was exciting. Obviously he didn't hit any cones, but it was a near thing. The data showed wheel spin.

No video of an even faster run Saturday morning that put him in the Top Dog Shootout, unfortunately.

Thanks for the ride and for sharing the video, DeWitt! Funny how it looks slower on video than it felt in the car.

Fun time. Paddock is kind of weird and isolated, so didn't see everyone as much as I liked, but it is a cool set up.

Course was fun. Worked hard on the car playing with shocks and bars and pressures and started to see some progress Saturday. After a 12 of 13 on Friday, I was second fastest in my class Sat morning. I wasn't expecting a shootout, but I got in, then won 2 rounds. The shootouts are a thrill to run. Very fulfilling day which more than made up for a really bad Friday result.

You're quite welcome. As I told you, it was nice to know that the car is indeed capable of going fast even if I can't drive it that fast.

Major time losses for me were the left hand sweeper just after the start where I didn't maintain a smooth arc, the slaloms (all three) and the turnaround at the far end of the course.

I've noticed that effect in racing sims. It doesn't look that fast until you lose control.
