Post event 4

Post by John Brown »

Well.. since I did the course, let me first say... it wasn't my finest moment. But, we only thought we were limited there.. now, we really are. :(
I wanted to try something different.. and I know most didn't approve,but.. it was OK in my car. Now, the redo on the start.. well, that wasn't me! Lol!
Pax wise.. it may have had dismal effect on small bore cars..
Actually my big car did the 180 corners pretty well so that wasn't bad to me.. the bumps however.. lol, different story. :D
I think it was a good day! I had warm tires!!!!

Fun course! I had to slow down to go faster in a lot of those 180s! Congrats to Brad on that 33 flat, that was moving! Thanks for the ride along also!

I sucked at the last corner but otherwise I thought it was a fun course. And I have a small bore car. Too bad we are really limited now there with losing both the upper and lower sections.

I thought the course was great even with the 180 corners and having to change the start. Maybe it's the fact that I just like to get on course and drive and hang out with the great bunch of folks in the region. Thanks to everyone for making it happen.

I think we would have fun with y'all if the course we're a circle!
It did reward patience for certain. We had a absolute blast. Thx to everyone who helped look out for my boy at his first auto X!! Little fellar slept all the way home.

I thought the course drove better than it walked.

The new pole there sucks but I have an idea on how we can still use the lower lot. it will take some coordination to make it work, though. Also, the cars parked on the top was a surprise. Now that the construction is almost complete, we can probably get that working again.

We can still use the bottom if we start downhill at the pole and run back up thru median and turn to left. We still have some option there. I liked the course because it taught you to focus on giving it up in the turns, breaking early and distance management in all the turns. Good job on course John. People think it’s easy
to lay course out but it has so many factors that have to come into play.

The FRS makes peek torque at 6400 rpms. I googled that after bogging the car at a 6k rpm clutch dump.

Like Mark said, the course drove better than it walked....and it was great to see everyone and hang out.

" I believe I can FLY!!!" sigh... guess nobody will buy the ole shifter kart once they realize I drive it like I stole it... such awesome cheap thrills. Dana made me drag the ole thing out and go have some fun. Glad I did! Also glad I had an assortment of pliers looking instruments to help fix a brake bias issue.

Always a good day flogging cars with fellow car peeps!

Yeah, I think you had a good 8" of air at the entrance of the slalom at times.

Another great day of racing with good friends, Chris loved the course but the hard rt hander before the Salome about pulled the wheel out of his hand. Congrats to jimmy for pulling it out on the last run and took the win by .111 .

I really found the right foot does not win an event. I had the steering brakes working wrong for me. best run was that ever so slow in the big 180 turns. Gwad we have some of the best in the club/ states, why no pointers ? I understand the club wants to make money but why not share a bit during an event! Might keep a few more in the come back loop, we have the teachers right here. Trust me if I had the money I would have Robert Carpenter in my car every time. Ya'll think about it.

Bob, we have three schools this year. Most of the people that would normally be instructing are working other jobs throughout the day.
