Post event 5

Post by timray »

The course may have been short on time, but it was big on fun! Thx for a great event. Everyone got dry runs. We beat the rain by less than an hour. Good stuff.
Props to the timing team who keeps us running at a very efficient pace.

Thanks to everyone who made the event run smoothly. We had just one avoidable issue in timing second heat, the rest of the holds were people who had a class/number designation that didn't match what was in the computer or illegible class/numbers. Overall, I'd say it was a good day. Thanks to JB for making the best of a bad situation with the lot. That course was a blast!!

Course was fun. It is easy to get down on such a short course on that site, especially right after coming back from Spring Nats, but I enjoyed just driving and getting to ride with some folks.

Did the bump upset anyones cars going into the last big 180 ? It almost put me thru the outside wall... on my last run. I packed it in after that.. wasnt gonna take the chance..

First two runs, I let off early and never felt it.. lifed late on the 3rd run.. and weeeeeee!

Yes! After my first run, I was so scared that I coasted about half the way up the hill coming into the 180. Fun though!

Yea, I think I got some air on the front right wheel at that bump.

I had to brake super early and super delicately to minimize "ice mode" right there.

You had a better day than the EVP of GM driving the pace car over a crest yesterday at DetroitGP...

I think he got some air with the inside front too.

I thought the course was a lot of fun. Great job everyone! Too bad the dump truck got in the way. At least we had the lot open other than that.

I didn't notice the bump but I have to admit I was chicken lifting coming into the last 180 because it was a little blind in the Cobras, either that or I was blind from screaming up the hill with the acceleration those cars have!

Big thanks to Jim and Mike for letting me have some fun with their cars!

Thanks! I've had several compliments on that so far. The only physical change was cutting the pipes short of the axle and putting turn-downs on since there's no room for stock configuration with the panhard bar/torque arm setup. I assume the difference in tune probably has an effect on sound as well.

for a small course it was very open. The big cars were very aggressive. Vrooman and JB looked really fast at the top. The corvettes looked like they handled the crossing off camber/up hill section well. But the 180 was so **** hard. It seemed so hard to pick up the throttle on exit and carry to end. Very fun day. Seemed liked everyone had fun and as always wanted more!
