Corvette Club Autocross - Aug 4

Post by MARKP »

The Corvette Club asked me to pass this along in case anyone wants some additional seat time. They are running at Smokies Stadium the day before our Bristol event on August 5th. Here are the details.

Early Registration - $50.00 / Person - Ends July 21st
Deadline for Special Room Rates at Fairfield Hotel July 13th

The East Tennessee Corvette Club will be conducting five sanctioned low speed events on August 4, 2018 at the Smokies Stadium 3540 Line Drive Kodak, TN 37764 (I-40 Exit 407).

If you are planning on attending, would you please let me know by return email and the car # you would like (also any other club members that may come). It's not necessary to pre-register right now, we just need an idea of the number of entrants. This venue is very costly so it will determine whether or not we go forward with the event.

We will also be taking registrations and names at our club meetings prior to the event. If you have ever wanted to try this, this will be your only opportunity this year for an event close to home.

Thank you,

Linda Goebel

Is this open to any car, or will their feelings get hurt if I bring out the Mustang?

Depends on the location. There pscc events were a joke and flipping dangerous.
The Ncm event was a blast until the finish... And I almost killed two old ladies. Bad safety review.

Have not run in a while with them. They are pretty much done with these events as the people running it now are retiring from it and don't want the hassle and the turnouts are getting worse.

Classing is like someone made it so each person has their own class. It's just fun with a stock C5 z06 good there and beating up on guys that build crazy C6 s and you beat them while they think they rule the roost.

In the Facebook event, it says 'slow speed' so I'm guessing something like a GoodGuys type thing. I wanna make it out to this even though I don't really mingle well with other Corvette folk.

If I get time, I will attend. The reason it says low speed is because their high speed stuff is track day stuff. That's just how they define it. That said, I expect a Goodguys type event.

I was specifically asked to help promote it since they are struggling for entries.

The forecast for tomorrow has turned around so I'm excited for this event. Hope to see some fellow ETR members!

Wish I could make it out there. Say hi to my dad. He will probably be there working.
