lol! no, but I can imagine. :)

seriously... its been a messed up deal out there. Most knew it was a 50/50 deal with the 1400 plus drivers running. Sure! it could have gone off perfectly... had everything lined up with out a hitch. That nearly never happens. There was no room for error!
Ill go ahead and make the prediction now.
next year... lower cap / higher entry fees /or, stretched out over more days if still greedy.
I AM SO GLAD I DID NOT GO !

I'm starting to think that the super tall stadium lights are where we're heading for Nats. Raise the cap to 1600 and run until 10 or 11 pm. Walks until 1 am and start times of 9 am every day.

Rain... Whatever. Yeah, I'm not at the "I'm going there to win, or event trophy" crowd, but I'm still wishing I went.

It totally sucks for the people that spend A LOT of time effort and money to get where they are in the sport only to have weather play a part in the middle of the heat. Same for the first day people... Rain that entire day.
Hopefully that was a fluke and not a trend.

I'm expecting something like the pro finale where the people with a few tours get first dibs at spots and so on with a slightly lower cap. I'm already planning my season so I'm ready. Kim already put next year in the vacation schedule so unless something really messed up happens, we'll be there.

Some things ended up in my van from Nationals let me know if it is yours:

1) a bag of free candy... big, fluffy, looks sweet.

2) a pot holder

3) red knife sheath

4) rusty nut driver for magnetic 1/4" drive

Fill in some details and I will try and get the stuff back to you. I'm not completely unpacked so I might find more.

Seriously? And how so? If the National Office foresees continuing to raise the cap to meet demand while still keeping the quality of the event and not extending it to 6 days, what are the options?

I'm skeptical that it wouldn't seriously impact vision and I don't want to work course with cars with headlights on. More importantly, you are looking at 20 hour days, less social time with friends, etc.

Anyway, nats was fun.

Weather was miserable and I didn't get the results I wanted, but nats was fun. Operationally, we had some challenges and I'm writing letters on multiple topics. ...but I think it will ultimately make us better.

Also, if you plan on going and care about your result (whether your goal is to win or finish top 50), read the rulebook. I didn't know that I was entitled to not take my next run until the corner sheets were available for review and that is something that might have helped me.
