DammiT! I missed this too?? Geez..thrdeye wrote: ↑Wed Sep 26, 2018 7:56 pm Sure I'm really curious to see it. I measured with Google maps, not solostorm data but I bet steve could tell us feet traveled.
FWIW, I would let this go but when we consider a 400 foot launch, middle of 3rd gear "slalom", and a pin cone in the same course a successful, fun, or balanced course design, something needs to change.

JB I don’t want to hear about your wide car anymore. Lol we have video from Sunday maybe Jim can post one or two. I turned a 53.9 clean and a 53.6 dirty which were the downed cones rife put down at the finish I run over. I left at least a second on course with all the mistakes I made but I would have needed two seconds to meet ES pax. The soloms were good but the offsets hurt me. The 3780 lb car felt heavy between the transitions.MARKP wrote: ↑Wed Sep 26, 2018 6:45 pm :runs out of the woods, gas can in hand:
I wonder if anyone thinks my car is a smallish big car, or if a C5 Z06 is.

They are all stock widths. I'm sure my car is fatter with the big tires.John Brown wrote:My car is 82.5 in wide ..

Re: Today
I think Chris is referring to event 8 where a scion got 3rd and a es miata got 4th place and ahead of the gt500. The top 4 had 2 mustangs and a e street and a stx car in it.

Re: Today
Some other fun facts looking at my data...
• The lowest average speed in a section of the course (broken down by solostorm) was 37.9mph in the back turn around. This doesn't include the finish because I'm sure it captured me braking at the end of that and would skew the data
• The highest average speed in a section was 46.1mph. This was in the offset slalom coming to the finish.
• The lowest average throttle position in a section was 21.1% again in the back turn around
• The highest average throttle position was 36.2% which was coming out of the hard back turn
I know these are all subjective because of the way solostorm breaks the sections up and I wish I had other event data to look up but I'd just deleted everything off the tablet prior to Sunday to make room.

Re: Today
I have ran courses where I hit the limiter in second gear several times and that is 84ish mph and the course wasn't too fast nor was it not safe, it was plenty safe. I am not saying all courses need to be like that either. I just DO NOT THINK IN ANY WAY THAT 60 mph average speed is too fast.

I don't think we've ran a course with close to that average speed.jcox07 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 27, 2018 6:02 am I have ran courses where I hit the limiter in second gear several times and that is 84ish mph and the course wasn't too fast nor was it not safe, it was plenty safe. Steve V...by section that's the areas between the dots on the SS map it generates right?
I still have some bms events in SS. If you can get this one to the cloud I'd love to take a look.

Yes that's the areas that it generates. I'll try to upload it to the cloud tonight, if I remember how.

Re: Today
Lets take some funds... buy a decent mild build SP car..OR, an STX car.. keep it shod with old tires.. and THAT becomes the PRO CLASS ...
no more complaining about courses...
maybe a lil more than kidding.

C5 Corvette would be a good one or 350Z. Give em a mild STU prep....John Brown wrote: ↑Thu Sep 27, 2018 7:50 am Lets take some funds... buy a decent mild build SP car..OR, an STX car.. keep it shod with old tires.. and THAT becomes the PRO CLASS ...

Could be cool.
This year's pro champ can purchase the car with all of their winnings.
