Dude. The average speed of a Porsche Turbo 996 around Atlanta Motorsports Park is something like 75-80 MPH.

A 60 mph AVERAGE would be way outside of autocross rules for both course and safety.

I must have missed that event too... I cant imagine an A-X course that "averages" 60mph... unless there were zero sub 40mph turns..

Lets re-check that math. can we?

My comment was based off this...
jcox07 wrote: Wed Sep 26, 2018 5:17 pm The distance and time tells you that it was tight, we have run .8 tenths and .9 tenths of a mile in the same time as this one 52 seconds.
.9 miles / 52 seconds = .0173 miles per second x 3600 seconds/hr = 62.30 mph

A course of .8 miles same time would give 55.4 mph, which is probably closer to more realistic, and maybe on the borderline too fast side, IMO.

no more complaining about courses...

maybe a lil more than kidding. :eating:
C5 Corvette would be a good one or 350Z. Give em a mild STU prep....

Could be cool.

This year's pro champ can purchase the car with all of their winnings. :D

This would be cool, but how in the world would we get all our runs done efficiently? Also, there's like a spec class in autox now or something

Speaking of SSC, I drove Mark's(thanks again!!) car on one of my spare runs after the M3 fuel starved on James 3rd run. It had surprisingly less power than I expected. I kinda want to try a STX trim frsbrz though.

STX car is way better. Flatter powerband and the tires keep you in the powerband WAY better. If I launch where the STX folks launch, I bog. I hopped in Ray's car and was like      .

...and the SSC car accelerates like an F1 car compared to the Spyder. At least people riding with me no longer to tell me to floor it when I have it floored.

FYI, general flow of whatever national course this was puts it at about 3700 feet.

It may be the match tour 2018 or it is day 2 of the champ tour 2018.

I still have some bms events in SS. If you can get this one to the cloud I'd love to take a look.
