See, I recall that there was a decree that courses have to be 75 MPH in spots to be fun.

Nope as long as it flows, but most don't come to go slow either tho. I bet if you took a poll of which courses are most liked, it would be the faster courses more so than the slower ones.

Looks like a CAMC can run in the top five in raw times with a good driver. Not saying that includes me.

Jadrice is better than good. I don't know if he qualifies as an alien, but he's not that far off.

I just looked up Falkens at Tire Rack. The Azenis RT615K+ might actually be a decent tire. The CAM size, the largest they make, would be 315/30/18. It has a load range of 98W and a max load of 1653 lbs. Compare that to the 315/30/18 BFG Rival S with a load range of 91W and a max load of 1356lbs. Even the 335/30/16 Rival S only has a load range of 95W and a max load of 1521 lbs. That says stiffer sidewalls to me, which should make it easier to drive fast than the BFG and/or run at a lower pressure for more grip. It also costs about the same as a BFG Rival S at $399 per tire.

Yeah, like I'd be able to tell the difference. Besides, I need to wear out my relatively new Rival S tires first.

Speaking of which, I'm probably going to be in the market for a co-driver/crew person for next year. Changing tires at an event by myself is starting to get to be too much for me.

Falkens might be totally different on big cars, but they are an easy 1-2 seconds slower on an SSC car depending on conditions...

My car/my experiences...
- Stiff sidewall, but they seem to like more pressure than I'd run with the BFG/Bridgestone
- transitional grip is fine
- forward bite and braking is laughably bad
- steady state grip is noticeably less than the hot tires, but not bad
- these tires absolutely will not tolerate blended inputs

Note that the 2nd place car to the guy on Falkens is the car that you commented as not very good.

I've never heard a single good word about Falken 615's come from a mouth that wasn't attached to a "Good Guy", FWIW
