I finally got to wind Michelle's out on a flowing backroad the other day. All I can say is holy crap it's good.

Need you to drive ours. Getting light clunk here and there and would like your opinion if it's sway bar, etc.

Yeah my front end clunks too, I keep checking my (aftermarket) sway endlinks and they seem to be tight every time I check em... still occasional random clunks tho.

If you have aftermarket end links they will clunk as they usually do on the initial and on transition turning .

Race cars have a fine line between normal "clunking"... and wheels falling off.

Well, I've heard internet speak about diff bushings or something, so a second opinion is always welcome.

According to Lucas the front tension struts (thrust arm in lingo for other manufacturers) can clunk when you hit the brakes with any vigor if the bushing is starting to get worn out. Have to replace the whole arm AFAIK.

You can tell if they're really bad because the fluid will be leaking out. Otherwise, it's a feel thing. I repeatedly jab the brakes at ~20-30mph to confirm.

I've never heard of front tension struts or thrust arms.

It's still a strut design, but there is a lower control arm as well as a front tension strut. The clunk when you stab or slap the brake pedal is the wheels moving backwards until what's left of the bushing compresses. It's much more pronounced when they're really neglected (you can see it if someone pulls up and hits the brakes), but it's there to some extent on all e9x's.

Just a guess, it's a common thing. Could be sway endlinks or struts/strut mounts or any number of other things too.
