Car Class (Benz)

Post by jjbradwell »

Curious to know if I am classing the 2014 E550 correctly in STU. Has sport springs, no mufflers, no secondary catalytic converters, 8.5 inch wide wheels from factory with 245/40/18 all-season tires. No weight changes.

Thanks,

Pretty sure you have it right, but I'm also not familiar with those cars. Sounds like it falls into "NOC" classing, as it isn't specifically classed for ST.

I agree that you should probably be listed in STU. I would suggest writing a letter to the SEB requesting classification for the car. You run enough, and at an occasional national event, that it would make sense to have it listed in the rulebook. Also, if your car is not specifically listed, you aren't eligible to compete in National Tours, Pro Solo, or the National Championship. I think Match Tours are ok.
