Focus RS

Post by CanAmDan »

It's been years since I autocrossed (12+) and I'm looking to get back into it. The last thing I autocrossed was a 2003 SVT Focus and an '84 SVO Mustang (which I still have). The Mustang was FS and I think the Focus was GS. Which class would my RS Focus run in? Thanks.

DS, assuming it isn't brand new. Apparently something changed and the new ones are in BS.

Thanks for the info guys. It's a 2016 RS thought I didn't get it until October of 2016. Yep - 350 HP and 350 ftlbs of torque. Funnest best handling car I've ever owned - by far.

So sayeth the Ford website:

The global Ford Performance team developed a standard mechanical Quaife® Limited Slip Differential for the front axle which further improves the 2018 Focus RS performance vs the 2017 Focus RS

Yeah 2018 is BS because of a real front diff. The other years are DS.

Dogwood Grand Prix - no that doesn't ring a bell. Where is that held? Now I did race it for a couple years in Birmingham AL at a dog racing track parking lot (2000 - 2002 I believe).

The Dogwood GP was a street autocross we held annually in downtown Knoxville. Our first venue was the Business Loop (it became James White Parkway) and our second venue was the South Knoxville Connector.
