Not my fault they make craptacular vehicles. At least mine isn't bursting into flames... yet.

We ran on a part of the lot that we have never ran on and it seemed to have a ton of grip even in the rain. Looks like Jim and Randy have started the trend of the PS4S as being the hot tire for wet conditions as errrrrrrone or almost errrrrone have them now to go with the conti as an intermediate tire and the rival or re71r as the other tires. Not a bad event if it hadn't rained. Bristol is next so lets get ready for the summer nationals. Thanks Jeff

Well it may have been at first but it looks like to be the pointy end of the spear, you will need 4 sets of wheels and tires to be competitive in most street classes.

The courses/area used was great.

I botched the first session, but was 5th fastest Sat afternoon and 4th fastest Sun morning (and could have maybe been right there if not for a redlight and rolling out of the staging lights at 1 second on another run).

Everything else about the event was pretty miserable.

Re: street classes, don't see how you need 4 tires, but you definitely need 2 sets. And regardless of tires, you need a LOT of luck in the rain.

That came from most of the street tire guys themselves...

I'd want Michelin's and Yokohamas. I could see mayyybe having some RE71R's as an intermediate.

..but if you need that intermediate, someone is probably going to be getting better conditions. Especially at nats, where in a bigger class, someone might be taking their run 30 minutes before/after you.

We had contis and bfgs last year. That's all you need. And the thing is both tires can actually be used when you're doing normal car things, and the contis were fine in our winters actually.

I'd do the Michelin for sure since BFG will pay if you use them.

After watching this Toledo event, I think the Michelins work better on bigger cars and the contis would probably be ok for the Miata's and smaller cars.

I think the Michelins are probably better as long as you can fit them (so ES and STS need not apply).

What's the story on the new Yokes (AO52?)? Looks like they have them in something that will work for a C6Z. Should I try them rather than going with the BFGs?

I think they are better than the rival and the re71r's, Finch was pretty fast on them in the rain and didn't get a dry run.
