Car eligibility

My daughter is 15 and has her learners now. And she is doing good. I always said I would make her do some autocrosses for the seat time. Probably is the car we found for her is a Nissan Juke. I looked in the rule book and didn’t see it classed anywhere. Is this one of the cars that the scca says is too tall? Thanks

I looked this morning but unfortunately yes, the juke is excluded due to being too tall.

Those are fun to drive, though. You could lower it. :-)

I would lower it but that still wouldn’t let it run would it. I may just barrow a car to let her run some

Yeah, in theory, if you got it low enough. For example, the Fiat 500 is not eligible, but the Fiat 500 Abarth is since it is very slightly lower.

You'd have to use the chart in the rulebook to figure out how much to lower it. It would still be up to safety discretion, so I'd make sure Mark, JY, and other safety stewards are good with it before working on the car.

Once upon a time, we had someone come out that would run a Juke but it was lowered. Not crazy low, but low enough. Basically, the car can have a maximum of a 1:1 ratio of track width to height.

You could clamp the waste gate open so no boost equals a de-tune and let her run the Locost :D

Right now it is safe for her to run. It is still on jackstands.
