but, back on topic..
The CAM hate post and memes crack me up. Im glad to be a part of CAM. My car is still in a constant state of build.
Honestly, I never dreamed it could go on for this long. Its a lot like building the road race BMWs.. not a lot of rules, and build the shit out of it.
I think its the thrill of the build !

I like seeing the big builds. I also like beating a lot of them in my mostly stock Corvette. [emoji38]

I think the cars are great, I just think they'd be frustrating as hell to autocross with a few exceptions.

Obviously CAM is popular for a reason though. But it has created some division in the membership in a few different ways.

lol

Tony Bolton spent years trying to get STM approved as a local class...

And then SCCA found a way to turn it into 3+ additional national classes (they needed some more)...

What's funny about this is that STM ended up being mostly imports. If they ever do the import version of CAM nationally it will be popular, IMO.

Had a novice student with some kind of Mustang at zMax earlier this year and he asked me to drive. The new 5.0, but still a stick axle, whatever years those are....

It was much better than I expected, but DO NOT WANT. Can't see crap, mind numbingly loud, and all you do is wait.

I think we could have a local class for the imports. We could call it JAM (Japanese American Muscle) or JEM (Japanese European Muscle)
:)

I think that with the right weight formula, an import CAM'ish class is great nationally. Locally, it would create a void for the cars that don't fit that or CAM, and might end up being exclusionary without any real net gain.

Paul, replace "American" with "Un-American" and you'll get what most people are calling it :D

One of my favorite message board memories was when Tony decided he wanted to run intermediate tires and called the creators of STM idiots for excluding them.
