Not many in cam c have done body panel swaps, I think I can only think of 3 cars with JB's being one and Jim with a couple pieces on his.

The car that won CAMC had carbon fiber doors/fenders/hood.

Steve, with all due respect, that car won due to the driver.

It was only a matter of time before they started trying to reign in the Fringe cars that would start a trend.
Cars that wouldn't pass a states safety inspection shouldn't be legal IMO since they are supposed to be street cars. Granted... Not every state has that. I get it. Just like St classes that they want the OEM steering wheel and it seats in them if they had air bags.
Right now I have no dog in the fight but I might down the road

It is just a matter of time before someone drops big $$$$ in a cam build, not that some haven't already put big money in their builds but it is coming where we will say dayuuuuuummmmmmm that was a lot of money.

ya'll got a different outlook on CAM than I do..
There isn't enuff money made to over come 3000 lbs and 200TW tires. Yea, the class will get somewhat faster.. but it aint NEVER gonna be a "damm those cars are fast" class...

Until someone drops a Corvette frame under a 63 Nova and makes some bastard love child from it.

Totally agree on the weight and tire deal. But don't think it's about that. I think it's about keeping costs somewhat ok.

I thought drivers entered CAM with their eyes wide open when it comes to cost to play...

Yep. That was the whole point from when I first heard about it. Run what ya brung as long as it's on Street tires.
I think that's one reason it's not a jacket class too... That way it doesn't go nuclear.
I see both sides. Just was saying I'm not surprised this had happened.

If I start doing TT events my car might be in cam-s next year.

I think CAM ought to be about STU fast, maybe a bit faster. STU is .66 faster than CAMC on a 60 second course per PAX right now.

I don't really get the idea that people are sitting around waiting to win a CAM jacket to do a serious build.

What is nice about CAM being a non-jacket class is that you guys don't have to go through all the write a letter, Advisory Committee meets, member comment, Advisory Committee meets and decides, SEB meets and decides, wait up to 1.5 years before it is go into place rules process. It can be several years to get something done. I wouldn't want to give that up, assuming I trusted Raleigh and any possible future Raleighs.

Plus you guys might not get free puppies and ice cream cones at the events if you were like all the other classes. :)
