The SCCA Regional club race is still on at VIR this weekend. Some friends of mine are going. I'll have a report when I hear from them.

Word on the CCR Facebook page is that they are trying to aim for a May/June reschedule.

Dixie turnout was good. I think we had 285+ before this all started and final PAX count was 238.

Super fun courses. Everyone was not freaking out and we all ( at least I hope we all did ) did what we needed to do to stay free of contamination.

1st time I've been to dixie where there was ZERO threat of weather.... that was nice. Thanks to JY for holding a spot for us. Great to see the ETR folks and put the beat down on CAM C from the group. I think 4 of the top 6 were from us?

SSR was a fun battle... I was 0.011 out of 3rd after day one and my co-driver missed winning by 0.050 for day 2. I was able to get a fast clean run on day 2 and get 3rd by 0.7.

Might be the last national event for a while, so it was good to be there.

Interesting that 10 of the top 17 PAX were race tire cars on a site that traditionally lends to street tires, both in grip characteristics and course limitations.

My friend said that the turnout at VIR, both cars and workers, was decent. There is some question, therefore whether Dixie or VIR was holding the largest sporting event in the country this last weekend.

SCCA an Dixie region did a great job when it came so personal safety, sanitation and so on there.

everyone got a commemorative pen ( not a special pen, but it was ours to keep ) when signing the waiver.
No hands-on stuff happened like handing over SCCA cards and the like.
No one was shaking hands ( or shouldn't have been ) which is really a tough thing to do. We're all so trained to greet that way.
No driver's meeting. Only made the announcments and so on , which I think is a great thing. I think people listen more to that than a meeting.
No trophy presentation - you got your trophy 30 minutes after your heat... which rocked since we ran 1st heat and worked 3rd... we were out of there by 1:45 yesterday.

Didn't have to wear vests
everything was disinfected at worker stations between heats.

I was glad I went but if it had been cancelled I would've supported that as well. I know there was a number of people that didn't go ( but weren't people that cancelled due to the virus ) that we had heard from that wished they had registered and went.

BTW - C7 grand sports are flipping a hoot to run on A7s. That's all I will say,.

If you signed up for the Charlotte Pro and can't make it or don't feel comfortable going or whatever, tomorrow at 3 is the deadline for cancelling and getting a full refund.

Appears to only be Superpass reg now. Any idea when regular reg opens?

Edit - looks like they're doing the 1-week delay for the non-super money folks. Regular registration is next Wed at 4 EDT.
