Zmax event on 2/22

Anyone going?

My buddy from PA is bringing his new SSR car down for a shakedown before Dixie to run and I'll be going to try the new car out.

Of course, that is all dependent on the weather, but that's the plan

What's the grip/lot like there?

Lot is sealed asphalt, with some subtle camber changes, and a tooth rattling trench drain.

Grip is weird. Race tires allegedly love it. Street tires have this pushy/loose/is my car broken? feel to it.

Lots of hearing damage inducing CAM cars there, if you are into that kind of thing. A group of us went 2 falls ago and out of like 20 CAM cars, the 4 ETR cars were the quietest 4.

With all that said, I love running there.

As Steve said, the pavement strongly favors race tires, so much so that they have two pro classes, race tire and street tire. Otherwise, street tire drivers would have no chance using the standard PAX.

what about an entry cap? Do they have one? I don't see it listed on the registration page.

Starting to look less and less fun, weather wise.

I've never seen an entry cap on their locals. I'd expect somewhere around 200 drivers depending on the weather. CCR events can be VERY long days.

They're good events. The courses are generally pretty solid but they often like to do decreasing radius stuff and/or multiple 180 degree sweepers and they have a different feel/flow to them.

They usually give four runs. Only been one time they had to shorten to 3 runs. Pavement is pretty awesome. Jim and I will be there. Usually. O cap up to 225 entries. They are efficient at running a event. Hot change overs. Strong competition

Yeah, we're looking forward to having at least one other SSR car there. Old Steel cities guy that now lives there so it will be like old times there.

Heard that some other PGH people are coming down too, so that should be interesting. Weather looks to be chilly, but at least it will be dry. If we can get 4 runs each, it will be perfect for us.

I know the TNT @ bristol is a couple weeks later and 'closer' but it's no closer for Dan and I will most likely have family in town that weekend so I can't get away.

I've ran there several times the last 2 years and I never got less than 4 runs.

I've never done it, but I've seen "time only" entries there. So you might even have the option of work 2 heats, run 2 heats.

gotcha - As long as we get some good runs in I don't think we're worried. I think he's more interested in getting his rust knocked off before Dixie and me getting a few runs in the car to get used to it in case we don't get any practice runs @ Dixie.

That was a fun event. Got 4 runs with 228 drivers.
Cold start but was great by run group 3. Fun course and great way to knock the rust off the body.
