Classing a GT350

Hey guys. Trying to make sure I have the right class for my car since I am a novice at this. SCCA rule book shows the Shelby GT350 listed in the B Street Class however I do have a splitter and aftermarket rear spoiler installed so that may move it to the Steet Prepared class? Any help would be appreciated!

That would bump you into ASP or Cam C

Like JY said... ASP/CAM-C. I think you'll find CAM entertaining and you can pretty much run whatever you want.

Now... you said rear SPOILER, right? Not a WING... if it's a WING, then it's SM or one of the new XS classes. Spoilers are ok in CAM/SP though.

Also, the front splitter in SP can't stick out any further than the factory bumper if I read the rules right.

Still think CAM is the answer . Fun group here locally as well.

According to a post in another thread, they changed the rules so you can have a splitter that extends no more than six inches beyond the bumper, but I haven't checked for myself as, unfortunately, it's no longer relevant to me.

Of course if you only run local events, it's unlikely anyone local would protest you even if you had a wing.

Thats LEGIT. 6" beyond front bumper.. and, 10" spoiler in the rear.

Awesome guys thanks! I'm pretty sure I fall under the 6" measurement although never had any reason to actually measure that. Definitely a spoiler not a wing too. You sure it's not BSP not ASP? Looked like the Boss 302 and GT500 were in the AS and the GT350 is in BS? Does it matter? lol Yeah, Cam C might be the way to go. haha

It is now BSP as of this year. I have a GT350 also and run in CAMC.

Why do you run CAM instead of a street class?

When I started the GT350 was in A Street and not very competitive, along with the fact that on the local level the number of people in AS was very low. I also wanted to make changes to the car that put me out of the street class and CAMC had many more entry's that make it more fun to compete.

CAMC is probably the way to go, assuming you have a 200 or numerically higher treadwear tire.
