Modified 07 MINI Cooper s Class

Post by roboterdcm »

I have a 2007 MINI Cooper S with:
Larger intercooler
Downpipe back exhaust omitting the second cat
Knoi Yellows with H&R lowering springs (cut rear bump stops and new rear bushings)
Camber plates up front
rear control arms lower only
motor mount bushings
larger rear sway bar
Intake + larger piping on both sides of the intercooler
Strut bar
short shifter
Tune on the stock ECU
I have factory wheels (16") with 340 treadwear bridgestone potenza re760sports and 15" team dynamic wheels with 100 treadwear Nitto NT01s
Aftermarket recirculation valve
Lighter weight clutch and flywheel
Adjustable tie rods

I have tracked the car several times and advanced through HPDE classes with NASA, but have never auto crossed. I thought I would give it a try this Sunday.

Thanks,
Johnathon

I believe this car would be classed in SMF

Ok I registered as a novice in SMF.

Thanks for the help I could not quite tell if it was a street modified or street prepared.

Seems like we typically don't have anyone running SMF (Street Mod Front drive). If you want some competition, you're also eligible for SM (Street Mod). There was a mini cooper occasionally beating up on that class last year.

Welcome!

If that tune changes the boost then you'll be in SMF as Harp said. If it doesn't change the boost then you could run DSP. 07 mini's are turbo not S/C right?

If you don't want to run your NT01s you can run your street tires in STM. More competition there, lots of different cars too. Rules are completely open, just need to run 140+ TW tires.

It is a turbo. The tune does modify how quick you get to the max boost and I think it increased the max boost by a few PSI. So I think it will be SMF or SM on the NT01s or STM on street tires.

The '02 SM MCS will most likely be there.

I could always use some extra help with the 7000hp Cobra in SM. Scott, it's time to let go and finally update your avatar.
