2013 SCCA Solo Nationals

Post by steverife »

http://www.scca.com/events/index.cfm?eid=5489

It is just over 3 months away.

1) Who plans on going? Any first timers?

2) Anyone want to co-drive the CRX? Aaron can't make it, and I will need to defer some of my travel expenses since I plan to tow. Cost will depend on how much you want to drive the car before, but should be pretty reasonable, especially if you can travel with me.

What if we just want to drive your car and not travel with you :?: Heck you would have to pay us to drive with you out there because that's a lot of Steve time don't you think. I am just kidding and wish I could make the trip this year but its just not in the cards for me.

Good luck Steve and I hope you have a safe trip :!:

I am waiting to see how I do at the next three pro events before I commit to going. Even if I do go, it will only be for the Pro.

not going to be able to make this trip this year. Hope it's fun for everyone.

The only reason I'm doing Peru is the cost of the co-drive is dirt cheap :)

Berry - do you have a PCA event that weekend? You should go and what a great time to be had :!: Heck you see things out there you don't get to see at most events plus its just good to hang-out with all you friends. I hate that I have missed the last two years.

Like Curt says....if you're only going to be able to do one autocross all year....make it Nationals.

Berry was there last year. He needs to go back in his own car this year. He's put in the work.

that is probably the most important autocross related quote I've seen/read this year.

Yeah. I was honored someone asked me to Co-drive but never got the hang of his setup. I finished 2 paces back of the owner in like 35 of 52.

This year STR runs Thursday and Friday for nationals. So that would put me sitting around Monday thru Wednesday for nothing. I have no desire to waste the vacation for that. Plus, I still struggle getting it done in only 3 runs still so the Pro is much more appealing. Plus I have a PCA event.

Berry - its bad when you have to run those late days. The times Mark and I have done that we just want to go home. There was nothing to do in KS so all we did was drink beer and tell stories. Heck we told a lot of stories

Good luck to everyone that makes the trip and we will be tracking you guys on-line. :D Its a lot of fun if you have never made the trip and you make a lot of friends while there. I miss going and can't believe this will be the third year in a role that I can't make the trip, but he 18 before was a lot of good times.

+1 on that.

This will be the 2nd Nationals I've not made since I started (only been going since 07) and I'm not thrilled about it.

We ran T/F last year and I got there the Sunady before to watch the Pro and just relax... that was vacation for me :) Lincoln has some fun places to eat and find a cold one.

If you're on the fence... do it! You'll be glad you did.

And Robert... next year I'm going for sure, and if you want to drive the car, you're more than welcome. Even if you just fly in and drive and head back... you have an open invite.

Berry: Nationals is held at an airport, ya know... They have planes that could take you somewhere and then bring you back...

I registered and just grabbed a paddock spot next to the ones that TR reserved. If some gives me a list of names, I can reserve a few spaces there...or you can talk to Tara and have her grab a few spots.
