Looking for a new ride

Post by jpvette »

I am looking for a new ride! Looking at mr2 spyder,s2000 ;any suggestions on model years to look for, good or bad between the two etc. Found a few mr2 spyders some high miles and some with a smt,not to sure about that transmission. Also found a low mileage s2000 2001 model decent price. Thanks for any input.
And no I am not giving up on V8's I just need something to tie me over.

Did you sell your vette? No wonder I haven't seen you out.

The vette now resides in sunny Florida. With new vette coming out soon I decided to sell before the market get's flooded. Plus I got a good price for the car.

S2000's are great! I had one before the Elise, loved it!

Do you want to run a particular class or prep level?

Stock class for now unless the car is already prepped for a different class. Paul I am waiting to see how the new vette looks and performs, so I'm on the fence about the new one. And yes we have been looking at cobras and steel bumper vettes for a project. I am leaning towards a s2000 so any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't know what your budget is but the one referenced above would be a great candidate and you wouldn't have to go far to get it. I would pick it up if I had funds available.

If you wanted to make a serious top flight effort in stock class, I would advise to wait out this season.

If you are more casual about things, any S2000 would be fine and you can always go STR. I'm a big fan of that class.

Hell, I'll deliver it to Knoxville. I need to open up a garage space for my new project.

The car can be pretty competitive as-is. I threw some star specs on it, drove to Birmingham, ran in STR and got FTP and FTD w/ fenders.
