Planning to come up for your event Sunday, bringing a rookie friend too. There used to be an event time schedule on your web page but now I can't seem to find it. What time does registration and tech open and close? What time is first car off? Thanks guys!

Registration typically closes 10am / First Car ~11-11:30 or so depending if I'm thinking correctly.

I think you are going to have a lot of surprised people Sunday morning if that is the case.

Um, yeah +1 to Rife's comment.......when did this change?

Honestly, I can tell you right now that I won't make a 9am registration due to work obligations, but 10am is comfortable :?

I thought we decided after last time we tried this that the attempted hour earlier really didn't buy us anything with respect to how hot everyone is. By the time people are really moving around the sun's already up, and either way, setup happens before that.

If every one that has pre reg. shows up and then we have late comers we always take care of them. We have to give the people working reg. a chance to walk the course, the last couple events some of them only got to walk 1-2 times, but we will get every one registered that shows up. Last year when we ran first car off at 10 am we were done by 2pm and every seemed to like that, but we try to start when every one has signed in and walked the course and we are going to try to have the course set up eariler and it will also be closed for walking till it has been completed. Walking the course before it is done is what is confusing many people since they do not know the direction it flows.

Well, I will be there when I can in that case and I guess experiment with driving the course blind or with a single walk.

The time change needs it's own thread STAT though, particularly for our out-of-towners.

For the record, I don't feel that giving everyone effectively an hour less to walk the course will help. Selfishly, I never have any plans post-event, so 2pm vs. 3pm doesn't make much difference.

What time would be a good cut off for registration?

Registration has always traditionally closed at 10...same with tech.

We just need to be better about being on schedule with what we've set.

With the last Pelli course, we were way behind schedule with course setup. Registration got limited walks because everyone got limited walks. I don't mean that as a criticism, that is just how it played out.

We need to run on a tighter ship on where people park, when people start walking course, we need to get the novice walk out of the way at a given time before the meeting. If we do those things, we'll get started when we need to start.

I agree Steve. The course does not need to be walked while we are still setting it up. Yes we were behind the last time and hopefully getting the trailer there by 6:15 and getting the course started early will help keep us on a better time frame.

We need a sign to put on the trailer that announces novice walk at 10 AM (or whatever). Have the walk while we are sorting run groups, printing worker/grid sheets, etc. That alone will save us time.

We also need a sign to remind people not to paddock/park in the grid lot. It wastes time to have to get everyone to move their car when we are calling for worker check-in and cars to grid.

We also need to have whoever is hanging around the trailer to keep people from going on course when people are still setting up. I'm as guilty as anyone with this, but it is a distraction to the course design team.
