exhaust in cs

Post by 77jason »

I was looking over the rule book and saw in section 13.10 E that a cat back is legal in stock. Am I correct? Would really like to do exhaust on mine, but have not because I thought it would knock me out of cs which I would like to stay in this year.

If I recall correctly you can do cat back, front sway bar, air filter, tires, ... hmm, can't remember the other big ones.

That's certainly how I read the rule. However, the exhaust system must meet sound control standards [3.5]. But anything that is street legal will probably not be too loud. However, note that the Event Chairman has blanket authority to declare a car is too loud.

Shocks (separate reservoir shocks are probably going away), wheels (must be same diameter, width and offset within +/- 0.25" as the stock rims), crash bolts to adjust caster and camber if they're in the FSM, fenders can be rolled for tire clearance....

That's what I was hoping to hear. I always enjoy a lil exhaust :)

Are you sure about that? I haven't looked at the rules lately, but I don't remember seeing this.

Yeah, first I heard of the fender rolling thing in stock. I think SS was lost over that protest in recent years.

That will teach me to work from memory. "13.3G Tire must fit the allowable wheels and fender wells without modification."

I don't recall anything about fender rolling in stock or "street". Exhaust systems will likely have to exit in a stock location in the future for "street".

I have a K&N filter for the stock airbox for your car I will let go cheap. It probably had less than 100 miles of air sucked through it. Still looks new. PM me if interested.
