National events are cool, but they aren't for everyone. It can be a lot of trouble, especially when you don't do as well as you'd like. I absolutely recommend trying at least one. They get better as you go to more, as you make more friends.

...but I definitely recommend going to Huntsville or Atlanta.

Sorry, but pretty much says it for me. Had a good time though, and was for a good cause.

...next season. They will be at the old airport the rest of year, now that football games have started at the stadium. Milton Frank is where you want to go.

Yeah. Milton Frank is fantastic. I've never ran anywhere else down there.

I need to get my ish together next year, so I can go to some of these events.

Chillhowee is fun because it's different for those of use who aren't spoiled with national-level lots. The elevation change and proximity of grass make things interesting. The courses are always horrible for my wide car/tall gearing, so I have to focus on something other than getting power down. Course aside the EVENT was fun because we had a really deep field in my class and some VERY close racing.

That said, I do plan to go to a national event before all is said and done, even if I have to run some ridiculous class and lose by tens of seconds, just to see what all the fuss is about.

We are going to Blytheville on Oct 19-20 and that is a very good place to race.
