Noob here. Class question.
Hey guys, Im new here and new to this solo comp. Ive done it once many years ago and had a blast and Ive just now got things sorted out enough to where I can make a move on getting into it on a more regular basis. Ive been doing some reading in the online rule book and what not and I think I get the general gist of things but I just wanted to confirm with the more experienced folks. I own a 2002 S2000 that is all stock minus coilovers (Tein flex)and I plan on getting wheels/tires in the future( 17x9 +45 with a 255/40). Now I know I cant run stock class because of the coilovers so what is the next class that I could run? Is STR the next class from stock?

yes, your car should slot into STR

While I don't know the specifics of the allowances in ST classes, I DO know that various types of cars have max wheel width limits within the classes and tire sizes, so I would look into that more in depth.

Once you do, you'll see that ST is a fun group of classes with allot of room to modify the car and still it be streetable.
Hope that helps.

Yes, come play in STR! ST cars make for fun gap toys as well. Not much compromise you'll need to make!

Re: Noob here. Class question.
Ive only made one trip to the gap in the S2000, im having issues with the ass end stepping out. Im hoping some parking lot playing will give me a safer way to test and tune.

Without a doubt safer. Do you have the factory front sway bar? That's the first recommended autocross upgrade for S2000's. Keeps the rear end a bit more manageable. Go with the Gederon or Saner FSB if you decide to get one.

I might be interested in the front, I think the only way I will be able to afford one is if it is used.
