The easy way to do it is to buy used sets for 1/4 the price and stock pile them ( I have 4 sets in the garage right now ) and run the snot ut of them.
Where do you get used race rubber? My #1 desire to not run in a class that will necessitate it the fact that it is so expensive to run. Used for locals and 1 new set a year sounds appealing but then I don't think 1 set would last 4 Pro's & 4 Tours. (that includes the finale & nats)
BTW...anyone interested in a S2000? I got the itch. I think deep down Steve and I are related because he talks alot of alternate plans.
I ran DP for almost a decade... took half that to get fast. Got my first 2-3 local Pro Championships against some fast competition in the old MR2.. So, Ill give you the scoop on slicks and a well set up P-car. Wear isn't an issue at all.. I could have ran most of the year on two sets of rears and one front set... but after 2.5-3.0 months...your gonna be slow as shit. time kills them. Luckily Hoo-Hoo had a real good plan then and I bought 1 set in 4 years.
But I can also tell you this.. if Im forced to run them fuggin BFG POS tires in STS... Ill be right back in DP in the Miata in 2015..... Chris Linberg will be turning over in his grave! lol (RIP still Chris)
And no..P paxs are not soft... neither is CSP.. like Rife said..thats the worst of all worlds in A-X
