Congrats on the purchase! I think you will really enjoy driving the vette, everything happens so fast in it and you really have to work the throttle on your corner exits to set the car right. Mine was easy on tires and ran local events with over 100 runs on them and were still competitive. Probably not nationally, but for local events they were fine.

My car was in ASP at that time, but still far from the prep level that was needed to run in that class on a national level. You've already got the car, just work on the driving now.
