not my best work...but. (the official post Adesa thread)

Post by John Brown »

I couldn't sleep well thinking that I had made a shitty course... but it drove a lot better than it walked to me..

I think Bradley won "MOST RUNS" award! lol...

It seemed a lot different this year than in years past.. the event.. thoughts

The course was fun, and the sections I was concerned about during my walks were not really painful at all when I drove them. I liked the little "road course" turns at the start in particular. There was one washboard section at the far corner, but that was minor (not speaking for the karts there though). The finish wasn't nearly as sketchy as I was anticipating.

The event as a whole seemed fun, and we did get a lot more ride-along traffic than the last two years if I'm remember correctly.

I may have missed it..but I didn't see 1 cone hit at the finish... was there?

Traffic control (for folks) was non existent into the course area in the beginning.. prolly because the registration table was not out side the gate... ??

David did an excellent job chairing the show.. JY.. is officially the club "blower" you know.. course cleaner.

Dave Yoder, thanks for letting the finish stay the way it was... that would have been a major (time costly) change..

Any body did a dnf % yet?? (c'mon Dewitt)

OoooooH! and thanks to whoever decided to have 3 cars on course!! that's the way it was set up to run.. sure cut the run time down from the first heat.. lol

I think I hit about 3 of them on my last run when Eric was riding with me. Came into the finish at a less than ideal direction, and smashed a few in the chute.

This was one of my favorite local courses that we've had. Good job on course design!

I liked it a lot in my new car! Fun course!
But I'm down to 5/32nds on my front tires already. Seriously. In less than a week. Gotta be some sort of record for 1 week old street tires.

I had a DNF rate of 75% and my clutch gave up, but it was a blast! The 3 cars at a time thing got a bit scary at station 1... there were a few times where we were sandwiched between sliding Corvettes on both sides. But it worked out and everything ran really smoothly. 100+ cars, 4 runs, and finished by 4pm. And I think United Way made a good bit of $$$$$. I would call that a successful event. Thanks for putting it on.

Great day, big crowd, good course. But I believe I have pulled a muscle in my ribs from that far corner section. Seriously having a hard time sitting, laying, breathing. But a good way to finish the season for us.

Good job John. I thought you buildt a great course, but you did make it for your car after walking it and driving it. You drove great though.

I had a great time today seeing everyone that I haven't seen in a long time. Thanks and I look forward to seeing you guys soon.

Thank you to: Brian, JY, and the gang in the Lemon's beast! I appreciate you letting me drive today.

I hate BFGoodrich.. came back after the first run thinking something was broken in the damn suspension it was so unresponsive and unpredictable. I was pretty livid after my three competition runs.. then that LS1 Miata of the Pemperton boys put a smile back on my face.. I fully understand the draw of drifting now, its a good time.

Great event! Thanks to everyone that worked hard to put it on. Course was fun, if I only had a few more runs I think I could have gotten my times way down ;). I know it sounds weird, but maybe there really is a limit to how many passes one can make. Thank's John, glad I won something! hehe ... I am so tired, my arms hurt, hands hurt, butt hurts, etc. Sorry I slowed down group #1, I was just doing what they told me to do.

I really enjoyed the event today as well! Would like to add my thank you to everyone that helped make it a success, and it must have brought in some good money for the cause.

I think it was awesome that so many people got to ride along! I heard tons of people walking around telling everybody they ran into how much fun it was.

So, when I first walked the course, all I could think of was

But then I drove it and it was more like

I had a blast today, and the course was great!

Brad, while it would have been nice if they had spread the ride-alongs out, I'm pretty sure you made United Way over $200 today, and you've got to strike while the iron is hot!

Thanks all for a fun event!
