Street Category approved by BOD

Mixed feelings in the community, but it's the right thing to do.

Don't like how we got here, but I'm ready to move on and I'm sure I'll run "street" at one point. Regardless of what tires were are on, I hope it gets to the competition level of stock 5-10 years ago.

Man.... my car would be THE car to have in E-Skeet but...... my raw times would be 2 seconds slower vs my STR times

edit: just noticed, 140 tw for street in 2014?! calling it now.... the r1rs will skew the results for cars that can run the 195/50/15.

How hard is it to find a stock '99 sport? That is one of the cars that I thought about if I wanted to simplify.

My guess is you could find one that's never been touched. I still have everything except the down pipe from the exhaust manifold - lots in junkyards I'm sure - but I did have to do some trimming to put the stupid roll bar in. Would this make the car unsuitable for national events? I did not have to roll my fenders to run my current wheel/tire setup. Been thinking about going in a completely different direction anyway. Wanna talk?

I don't know if esp will fall into this class, but has any one priced street tire for my GT500. They cost more than Hoosiers, somebody show me the savings on street tires vs. hoosiers on vettes, GT500 and other such cars.

I'm not looking to decide/do anything right away, besides I'm still stalking a certain GP car that is for sale. :)

I'm figuring Rick will release it at the sane time as the rest of 2014 pax numbers. I will probably be in pro next season.

Stock only. And SS cars will always have a hoosier class.

It'll be interesting to see if Rick basically works off a multiplier across the board or if he makes some adjustments for classes like DS that should be relatively faster.

Either way, if I'm still in the STS car, I'm leaning towards STM. I'd hate to not run heads up with John, but I don't think a low powered FWD can pax well at PSTCC any more...

edit: That'd also give Aaron a chance to bounce between the car and the Geo and get points if he wanted to do that.

No disrespect toward any driver ...but if someone comes out to pillisippi and wins pro by over a second and don't have a last name of Carpenter ...I'll go to STS open.. or STM also Steve.

I dont think the vette on streets would be a threat... AWD cars with some punch, will slaughter at Pilli.. where the majority of ETR data is derived.

I hope Rick starts out very conservative..then lets the real data work for the next year, hopefully as more "seasoned" drivers enter the class.. However... if I was one of the "pro-street-tire" folks... this is the year Id be banking to do some damage!

Obviously... Im no quitter. Im on the lookout for a SSPC everyday (street stock pilli car) :eating:

As long as we keep at least 35 drivers combined, yes. Otherwise... we're in the same boat as the rest of the "Street" class cars.

So, now I have to buy Rs and Ps for the car.... 58 PSSR

I think that they should amend for SS"R" that a car that cannot GET R-comps in a stock wheel size should be allowed to bump down ( or up ) to a diameter that they CAN get some on.
