What class is my truck?

Post by TacomaJPP »

Hey guys.

I plan on being at the SOLO event at PSTCC on Nov 10. I'll be driving a Chevrolet S10 and I'm a little overwhelmed at all of the classifications. What is the recommended class for my truck?

Thanks!

Tell us a little about it. What year? Engine? Modifications?

Sure.

1995
4.3L, 5 spd
Lowered 4" front and rear
Roll cage and seat
Completely gutted interior
180TW Kumho Ecsta XS
3.42 LSD

We've built it for ChumpCar and wanted to shake it out before its maiden voyage at Road Atlanta in February. We haven't really done any engine performance mods yet. Those will happen around the first of the year.

Mark's comment in that other thread makes more sense now.

We run our LeMons Geo Metro at a lot of the ETRSCCA autocrosses. We also run STM. I thought Chump had the same 200TW requirement as LeMons?

For 2014, Chump has changed to 180 TW.

I think it opened up about 3 or 4 more choices.

the Bridgestone RE11A is now a 200TW… won't it supersede the RE11 ? (with the result of the RE11 going away) …. and in some sizes the RE11 is a 200 and in others it's a 180 (strange …. )

didn't know anyone wanted to run the others … good info

Regarding the Bridgestone, sounds correct.

We're actually running the Kumho's based upon a few recommendations of other teams who have ran them and love how the tires wear and handle being heated up.

Truthfully, I think ChumpCar just gave in to all of the complaints by people just wanting a lower TW number.
