Chattanooga Points #7 9-21-14

Post by jcford80 »

Our second event at the Jetport in Cleveland. We need all the ETR peeps to come out and help us keep our numbers up!

Registration:
https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/cr ... oga-826479

We are capping registration at 100 (we are at 39 only 3hrs in!)
Online payment is required but will not post to your acct until registration closes Thursday night. You can back out anytime before then and receive a refund minus the $2 online fee.

We have a street sweeper/vaccuum coming to prep the surface for us!

I'm not sure of a food vendor yet, but I'll post that as soon as I know.

Update with some arrows. Somebody tight out was a drag race from the start with a 3 cone slalom. Ha, I ain't that biased toward power.

Berry, when are you planning on releasing the second car? This may be a close call waiting to happen at the lane change and the front side back wall as they are very very close in your drawing.

Will have to adjust but with each square being 25', that puts 100'+ between the lines except at the lane change which does share the wall. The lane change area will be easily countered.

BTW.. update on food.

The Civil Air Patrol will be at the site serving breakfast @ 7am and then will be there for lunch also. Not sure on the menu.

... crazy .. crazy.. surface.

We had to leave after 3 morning runs due to the Mustang having a front suspension fail.. but the course was changed for the evening runs. Looked to be a lil smoother as far as flow goes. Not sure what it did to help grip. Was in 3rd at half time.. but foresaw no way to catch KK on that lot.

Front lower control arms rear bushing cracked and I thought the vibration was just bedding in the new brake pads as JB and I was headed to chatty trying to catch up to Lin we were going 1 or 2 mph over the speed limit and lets just say if the wheel had fallen off it would have not been pretty at that speed....lol new parts ordered and I hope they get here and installed before adessa.

Kristo killed it.

We both agreed that the grip got worse with every run in the afternoon. I don't know if I killed my tires or it was just that surface, but I absolutely could not stop the car. The car wouldn't turn and wouldn't stop. That is a pretty frustrating combo. I could run a good pace, but it is hard to be fast and precise when you can't scrub off any speed. Oh well...

I don't know if a high pressure water line would help the jetport, it may be like JB said that it will take time to knock off the rough edges that are breaking up and creating the dust that just gets pushed down in the low spots and makes for some very slick surfaces.

I really enjoyed the course, and I thought the surface was much better in the afternoon.

The last slalom was awesome but to do it right, you were almost out of control going through the finish as evident by some of the spins. I haven't spun the Solstice since our first time in the car on the DD tires @ Pelli.

I definately left time out there, but I don't know that I would've touched Kristo. Awesome driving!

I thought it was better in the afternoon too, but that may have been because I was beginning to get more comfortable with Paul's Camaro. I'll know better when I get a chance to look at the data.

Paddle shifters are a PITA for autocrossing. Either you shift when you don't want to or, because you've shuffled your hands on the wheel, you can't find them when you do want to shift.
