What class would this run under for SOLO?

2002 Subaru WRX 4 door sedan, stock with these mods (305 HP):

high pressure oil pump, CX racing intercooler and y-pipe, Perrin Turbo inlet tube, JDM 1 piece header/up pipe, Godspeed 3 in. downtube, no catalytic converter , HKS mid pipe exhaust, computer remapped for 12lbs boost, 175psi fuel pressure, TDL 04 Stock turbo, AEM cold air intake, Greddy High Compresssion blow off valve, XTD lightweight cast aluminum flywheel, XTD stage 2 perfomance clutch, Greddy 3 inch quick release fork arms.

Sounds like you will be in STM with those mods.

Person I bought the car from said he was going to bring me the data sheets from testing. He said that it is 305 HP on the ground (I really dont know much about racing, parts, and terms). I am green as they get, but REALLY excited about SCCA.

Hope you can make the event then. Since you have no catalytic converter in the car, and I doubt you are on a full slick tire, you should be in STM. So just register with STM for the event next week. If I see you out I will introduce myself and we can look over the car a bit.

Tires have to be 140 treadwear or above for STM. Other than that, you should be good to go. Look forbthe threads about things newbies should read.

Id for sure get the dyno charts from the previous owner. 12psi and a 2.0L just doesnt add up to 300awhp. my sti with 2.5L and 18.9psi makes 270 awhp on a mustang dyno (low reading) just for reference.

Yeah, 305 at the wheels is a bit of a stretch. The TD04 just won't get you there, especially on a 2.0 and at only 12lbs of boost. My 06 WRX wagon with the TD04 topping out at 21lbs of boost would only barely crack 260 at the wheels. I'm also guessing you mean it has a 175lph fuel pump, not 175 psi of fuel pressure.

Still a great car though and should be a lot of fun to autocross. I regret not autocrossing mine...

unless some genius has blasted the toe nuts on there with an impact, and the car is originally from Alaska. Then, well, you may be SOL

Explain the toe out in the rear. What will this cause? The new car is an oversteering monster, but its hard to control in the slaloms.

Toe out will allow the car to turn in a sweeper without bouncing on and off the throttle to try to get it to turn.

If you feel like you're waiting waiting waiting on the car during a sweeper, and you're sure your line is correct, then the car is probably too pushy.

If it's difficult in slaloms, work doubly hard to make sure you're turning early so that your smooth.

The other approach in an AWD car in a slalom is to wiggle it through with a lot of throttle and some semi harsh steering inputs.

I am anti rear bar in an AWD car. It takes some wotk to make the car drive well without a big rear bar...you ha e to get your pressures and alignment right...., but it's worth it.
