From TR on the Toyo R1R 200tw info page.
"No changes were made to tire compound or construction, so both 140- and 200-Treadwear-rated tires are compatible with each other when put into service as singles, pairs or in combination."

That's gonna ruffle some feathers, right?

Meh. Hankook did the same (just slapped a 200 on it). It's what I expected.

If they really did that, why are the tire characteristics totally different? The V1's were terrible in the cold. People spray the V2's like mad.

I don't think the V2 and 200 TW change happened together. I don't remember it that way anyway.

Okay. That would make sense.

If that is the case, I think something is going to be faster than the Toyo.

have you figured out WHAT you're going to run this yr?

I haven't dug deeply into other suppliers, but TR lists the RS-3's V2 availability as fewer than 2 …LOl

Toyo (200 TW) … zero (and like I mentioned above, the possibility of April ship date)

they have Dunlop Star Specs …. all of these are in the 195/15 size

Hankook V2 in a 205 = zero … Star Spec … available to ship

in 225 … nothing

so looks like either STM for me or wait until I can get tires … April or later :(

What tires would you run in STM?

Maybe a bit late but if anyone has some old 14" or 15" performance tires I'd be interested in them, my Subie runs on 15x6.5" and my E30 is on 14" BMW bottlecaps of the same width. They both currently have 450TW all-seasons and I'd really like to make them more competitive in HS.
