I 100% agree, course design should not make the outcome but it has many times this year! I know it is hard to make a fair course but 21 pace slaloms are not and have never been fair, we saw at toledo on 30 pace slaloms with you on the rev limiter half way thru and my and finch speeds in the slalom was 54. I will pay for the lot at pelli and we can put the slalom equalizer to rest, you are still faster thru the slaloms than my car and at 21 paces way faster.

lol! we used to run 15-16 pace saloms. But he drives a bigger car these days.

according to results.. 6 events have been won by HP. 4 by small bore cars. that's some fuzzy math...

I guess I found a class killer, eh? David Whitener better look out, I'm gonna destroy his 170hp Honduh with my 130hp 2600lb Focus on crap suspension. You make me laugh.

John, my friend, I think you have lost your effing mind. The runs I made in my car were for my own curiosity. WTF does the car number have to do with this? I never thought I would beat your time with it. Let's make some fun runs at Adesa. Your Miata and my Focus. Let's see which car is faster if we both run them. Want to?

Id not be willing to make any assumptions on finish positions at this point.. until after a course was designed. On flat ground, and a course with some sort of driving challenge... it wud prolly be fun. I sure hate FWD tho.. lol

*oh, and I was being sarcastic on those remarks... don't be so touchy.

I would have liked to have driven the Focus yesterday, just to see. I didn't feel like the course really rewarded handling, so I think it and a lot of other cars would have been close to my car.

Sometimes it goes the other way. I do think Chilhowee heavily favored small cars. I said that in the last thread.

I haven't heard my name on this forum this much since 2006 when John and I were leaving Ft. Myers. lol

I have been out of the sport for a year and this was my first local event in over a year. To say that the course was fair or not I don't feel like should be focus here but the fact that a course wasn't fun should. I think its funny that I didn't hear anybody say the course was fun and matter of fact when doing the novice walk the course was still changing up-set several of the people that were walking with me. If its true that looking at the results this year where 6 events were won by cars with horse power and the other 4 were won with no horse hower how can anybody argue that the course made a differece in the results? I have no dog in this fight and felt lucky to get the one run that was a little less than .5 out of first in Pro class but it was after my three runs and Mark is correct I am rusty but not .5 rusty.

Try looking at it this way if you drove 100 miles and it was the first time you ran with ETR would you ever drive 100 miles again? Be honest about! I have driven several times over the last 20 years more than that to run courses that were fun and not made trips to other events knowing the course was going to be bad. The fun factor is a big part of our sport so we need to focus on that when building courses rather than if its fair for this car or that car.

Just my two cents and I want to thank Mark for letting me co-drive his car then my car. lol I personally plan on pushing JB, MP, KK, JY, McCrary, Rife and who ever else is running in Pro class next year that's for sure because those kinds of drivers that makes you better or makes you give it up. I am not giving up! I am not trying to be cocky but I do want to be the best driver I can be and I look to that list of people to make me better weekend! I love you guys and have missed seeing you more than you know so lets go racing. :eating:

And about that Phantom cone..... it wasn't there my first run.. My second run as I came into that turn..which was the fastest part on course for me.. I looked at it,and I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.. cause as I got closer, I focused on the square it was in.. I thought about stopping, until I saw the box.. I slowed a tad,but powered on. On my third run, same thing..but was pissed,so just finished.. wasn't hurting me as much as I needed to win..
What I should have done in hind site.. was radioed the station after the 2nd run. I went over and ask about it.. They said nobody had stopped for it or ask..lol Glad they happened to notice it. you had the apex cone..the pointer.. and a cone right in the line of the tires. looked normal to me! lol

This, this, this.

I can appreciate that you Pro guys are competitive, but please try not to ruin it for the rest of us.

Meaning what exactly Lucas? lay it out there.. were good with criticism...

I mean.. do you think our courses this year have been pretty fair, or do you think we are sacrificing fun and challenging courses for ease of winning?
