Test n Tune March 12th canceled

We felt it best if we canceled the test n tune for March 12th as we didn't want to poke the bear with 2 days of tires noise and exhaust noise right off the bat with the new year just starting. I know lots of people were looking forward to it as was I, but we want to remain in good standing with pelli and make sure we are doing all we can as a club and as individuals to limit the sound of exhaust. Please look for a new thread that will be posted soon on sound and if you show up on this thread, then you need to help us by doing all you can do to make your car quieter if at all possible. I am putting the new tips on the mustang that are suppose to be good for 4-6 DB's quieter than what I am at now. These are around 22.00 each and can bolt on or weld on and I will keep you posted on the results. Thanks JY

I hope the weather is decent at zMax on February 27, otherwise I'll have to wait until April since ETR #1 conflicts with the SCCA Regional race at VIR and Dixie with the Sebring 12 hour. With no Test n Tune on 3/12, I'm going to VIR.

Smokies isn't conducive to a test and tune due to cost. We pretty much do what we can there.

that's what I was wanting to know ... I didn't know how much pricier Smokies was (if any) than PSCC ... with an event price increase (we're the least expensive of anywhere I run ... other than Highlands) ... will Smokies have to become our primary site when we lose Pilli ?

Nah, smokies is limited as baseball starts in the spring and goes till sept. time frame, if we do loose pelli then BMS will probably be our primary site. We are hoping we don't loose pelli and if everyone will make sure that they are below sound, that will help us out a bunch.

tire noise is what's going to get us in the long run ... we can get the engine noise to 90dB and lower and somewhere down the road that won't matter ... the tires will

BMS is Bristol Motor Speedway.. Thunder Valley. We shouldn't have a problem with sound there.

Only way to get back with Walter State is if the coordinator there moves away and someone replaces him. Last event be said we trashed the bathrooms, paper was stuffed in the drains, basically poo-wrecked the bathrooms like highschool kids. However, several of the solo committee and board members did a walk thru and nothing was trashed. So, we either missed some secret bathroom, someone else snuck in and trashed the bathrooms, or he needed an excuse to not be bothered to rent the lot. If someone other than the one designated person called him he would get upset.

There are sites in the Peoples Repugnant of Californistan that it's rumored count tire squeal in the sound reading. That's one way to discourage over driving. Folks, shave them tires, they squeal less.
