Ryan Finch was second in CAM-C in JY's car. I don't know how much a role weather played in all that, though.

What happened with jb's car? Lynn wasn't listed to get a third run, and jb only had two dnf runs....

Really not thrilled I missed nationals, but happy that we had a nice turnout and everyone that went should be proud, regardless of how the finish was.

Any one got input on this situation? DNF runs? WTF!? Not sounding normal. Was it a wet course or what? hot or cold?

Raining like crazy, tough course. John missed the same gate all 3.

I think Lins missing run is just a sololive issue

So what's the story on them throwing out a bunch of runs due to rain?

I want to know this too. It sucks for the people that didn't get dry runs but that's how the rules are written right? The dry runs shouldn't be thrown out. ESP still isn't showing final results. I'm glad I didn't pick this year to be my first nationals. I probably wouldn't ever go back.

Didn't it rain early in the week last year?

IMO, you either throw out the whole session or leave it as is. I lean towards the second option.

By the way, the weather at Summit Point for the Labor Day MARRS races was absolutely glorious.

Combined results are up, but several classes, including ESP and STS are under protest or appeal. It looks like the winning FS cars could have finished near the top in CAM-C. I hope Ruth takes notice for the 2017 PAX/RTP.

Here's what I know about the 5th heat fun. There were a few of the big chiefs that apparently had a meeting about this and they decided to throw out the existing runs and start over.

It was immediately protested on the west course after it was announced at a driver's meeting.

Here's my $.02. This has never been done this way, that I am aware of. Weather situations like this aren't that unusual. It sucks but it happens. If you decide you are going to throw out runs due to changing weather conditions, you open pandora's box for the flip side too. More often, we run into drying conditions. It sucks if you aren't the last one out because they get the driest course. I had that exact situation in CAM-C this year. You deal with it and move on.

So they called a driver's meeting during the 5th heat rain out (or after) and wanted to start 5th heat from the beginning again (this time with wet conditions from the start for all)?

Yes - that would be pandora's box opening....

The third place in FS 2015 Mustang was only 0.6 seconds behind first and there was also a BMW M3 in the top five. I'm thinking performance is almost purely tire limited, and both classes are running tires with similar performance. I suspect the Bridgestone RE-71R would be the better tire if it were the same size as the BFG Rival S. But it's not. Maybe the 305/30/19 will change the situation. I don't think it was available in time for the Nationals. You can put that size on a FS Mustang, but it's rather badly pinched. Jon Nwanagu ran that size Kumho on his FS Mustang, but he didn't go to the Nationals.
