Until something changes, the only thing people are running nationally are the RE71R or the Rival S. The RE71R seems to be an all around great tire that doesn't mind street miles. The Rival S seems to be more dependent of car choice and driving style.

I'm hoping it's the re71r considering I just ordered some. They gotta be better than my three year old worn out z2.

Those will do well, but if your wheel is wide enough to put a 315 on it, that is the way to go on our mustangs.

The Rival S seems to be the tire of choice for CAM, but the RE-71R works pretty well. For a lighter car like the Elise, the RE-71R is probably the better choice.

Speaking of CAM, I see the CAM Challenge is back. The closest one for us is Peru, IN, August 12-14. There will also be an invitational only CAM Challenge at Lincoln in September associated with the Solo Nationals.

Chad,

To be more specific: If he has 18x10.5 or 18x11 rims, then the 315/30/18 Rival S is what he wants. For smaller rims, the RE-71R is probably better, the 275/35/18 worked well on my car. For 19 inch rims 9" or wider, they make a 285/35/19

I'm looking to either get the Rivals or Hankooks RS3's when the Goodyears are completely worn out. I'm running 285/35-20 so my selection is very limited.

Don't get the regular Rival. They are notorious for complete lack of wet grip. Unfortunately, I don't think they make a 20 inch Rival S.

First thing I would do is get a wheel size in one that you can get a good tire to autox in, as this will make it more fun with a tire that does well and help you have more fun as well.

Yep if you are running FS in that Camaro, you can go to 19's and there are 275 and 285 RE71 R's available.

I've looked at going down to a 19" rim, but the cost doesn't make sense considering the RE71's are coming out this summer for 20" wheels. I'll probably run FS this year to get more seat time and then I'll be switching over to CAM in a 69 Corvette... That's the tentative plan anyways. I'm more for having fun than spending the $$$$ to win the class. That may change as my skill level improves and my will is broken from finishing last place every event.
