Is the National Challenge open to anyone, even local turtles? I'm guessing this is a chance to run against the big dogs. What can we expect as far as turnout, format and such? I've never been to a national level event.

Can't wait to get the Seven dirty again

Yup, open to any member in good standing and also weekend members. Goto the link above and click on "event supps" on the right of the screen. There you will find schedule and rules info.

I expect 70-100 drivers, maybe.

As far as number of runs, I dunno, but your time will be cumulative and a DNF on any run will end your event.

Not necessarily on the DNF. In the supps, a DNF gets you the slowest time in your class for that run plus 10 seconds. While that sounds like a pain in the A for timing, its not over till the fat lady sings so press on regardless. Yes it will severely damage your chance at a win, but you still can compete for position with others who are having a bad day too

I suspect a dedicated thread for the SEDiv Divisional Championship will pop up in the near future..... this will be a perfect place to post event-related info and answer some questions.

There are a few things that happen at a divisional event that don't happen for local/regional events.
