Barber this weekend ...... anyone interested in crewing ??

Post by joe henslee » Wed Aug 28, 2013 6:04 pm

My regular crew (son, a close friend, and sometimes a teen grandson), are all busy this upcoming race weekend. Looking for someone to tag along. I will cover expenses ..... meals :eating: , provide nice sleeping quarters (air conditioned) and transportation. Depart west Knox Friday mid-morning. Arrive back in Knox Sunday eve. Car is pretty much dialed in, just routine checklist items between sessions. Should be a low key fun kinda weekend. Plenty of time to check out other race grops and time trials. Toughest crew activity is setting up the awning and teardown when done. Qualify Sat late-morn / race last race Saturday afternoon. Sunday ....repeat. Only goal is picking up an additional SARRC race so eligible for SIC. If you have interest, give me a call at 865-659-6747. Thanks, Joe

If anyone doesn't know Joe, he is a great guy. I would jump on this but I already will be at the Hoosier truck at Barber. Pit close Joe and I might be able to help if we arn't too busy. At least come over and say "howdy"

Pilson, you know you wanna go hang out at a race track.

Also, if you anyone here loves vintage Lotus cars and every motorcycle you can imagine, ride with Joe and sneak over to the Barber Museum.

Unfortunately, I already have stuff going on this weekend.

Agreed for what Ted said about Joe. If anyone didn't have plans for the weekend and wanted to check out some wheel-to-wheel racing, this is a great opportunity. Joe knows racing. 8-)

Thanks Jonathan,
Look forward to meeting you at Barber. Looks like we have engineering as a common background. Recently retired from Boeing after ~ 30 years on multiple programs. See you there. Bet we can find something to talk about.
Regards, Joe
