Tom Burke Award

Post by MARKP »

Leaving the national convention with some hardware. ETR was recognized for 2018 with the Tom Burke Award. This might have my name on it but this is due to the efforts of TEAM ETR to grow and excel as a region. Congrats to every member our region. Without you, this wouldn't have happened. Special thanks to Paul Breitweiser who was our Membership Chair for most of the season.Image

Thank you Mark for the acknowledgment. Even though I stopped really working hard on recruitment when I got sick. I still finished pretty high nationality on individual memberships.....great work ETR.

I think it was for growth of medium size regions in membership.

Congratulations ETR Region Management!!!

The Tom Burke Award is thought to be among the most prestigious recognition awards that the SCCA makes! I admit to being a bit biased as Tom was is/was my brother. He was killed in a highway crash in 1987 while en-route to "work the spectators to join the Club" at a pro race at Mid-Ohio.

Thanks Mike. They did mention that in the presentation but didn't go into much explanation about the criteria. I planned to look it up on the SCCA website but haven't had a chance yet. Sounds like he was a well respected member.

Paul has killed it. He took over a position and created a new position with his efforts to grow the club. We wouldn't be where we are without him.

Also, everyone know it, but JY is the hardest working person in solo and I'm not sure where we'd be if he didn't take up this hobby.
