He has insurance. The BMW on the side was sent there by my friend Robert at Kadunza for some work. His told Andrew that he could use some of the space in their shop to work from while eh rebuilds depending on how long the claim takes, and if they cover it. Apparently the interior adhesives were what caught on fire in the car. Andrew had the chemical extinguishers which could not stop the fire.

The sound deadening and seam sealer crap that's all over cars. It catches fire really easy. I've had the reverse happen many times. Welding on the inside of the car and the underside catches fire.

Changed insurance a few years ago, they asked where my lawnmower was stored.
Turns out you'd be surprised how many people catch their house on fire trying to start a (malfunctioning) lawnmower in their garage.
That's also the reason you aren't allowed to build an unfinished garage anymore (in your house) - sheet rocked walls + ceiling delay the spread of fire (building code).

I'm glad no one was hurt. I had this happen putting in the roll bar. It's very important to have someone on fire watch. Our shop almost burned down when a guy was in there by himself cutting with an acetylene torch.jcoatney wrote:The sound deadening and seam sealer crap that's all over cars. Ouch, glad no one was hurt. It is a horrible feeling when you get a call from a shop that has your car and they tell you "we've had an accident with your car" (there is a reason my Camaro has that cowl hood these days). Hopefully Andrew has enough insurance to cover all of the losses.
