2014 Focus ST info

Post by John Brown »

Well, looks like the Blue MX5 is relocating to a new home.. and a Red ST is waiting outside for me.
Does anyone know a good resource for A-X parts and or alignment specs to start off with?
Scotts car was a hOOt to drive..even for a seasoned rear wheel advocate like me!! And I had not competed in a FWD in prolly over 15 years.

Views on pax for next year? .806 currently.. not sure how Andrew P. paxed at Nats this year.

I hope I can have a new car ready for Adesa...

Sam Strano makes the bar you want, I think.

Obviously Pallotta can help you out and I'm sure he'd be glad to.

So - what about the STS car?

I would complare times since it was so close to ES. Class seemed "slow" nationally. I don't anticipate a big PAX change.

Strano's bar is on mine along with the adjustable Steeda endlinks; on the middle setting. More rear bar is probably not advisable as Strano says below:

" 22mm 3-way Adjustable Rear Sway Bar Add To Cart

Part #: FoST 22mm Adjustable Bar
Brand: Stranoparts
Price: $179.99
Custom built 3 position rear sway bar for the rear of the 2013+ Ford Focus ST.

The stock rear bar is 22mm also, but in a serious bind which makes for the very snappy unprogressive nature of the Focus. Over-rotation is bad, it costs you time because the rear is sliding and the act of catching it scrubs speed.

What we built was a very simple bar with 3 adjustment positions that allow you to find a change in balance with out the massively stiff rear bars otherwise in the aftermarket. Remember the car can and does pull up and inside rear wheel in stock form, so more bar only makes the car more twitchy.

Please note that a set of adjustable endlinks are recommended. They are not required, but recommended to make access to all both positions as easy as possible.

*** 18" wheels are OEM on the car. If you run 17" wheels the end of our bar might come in contact with your non-stock wheel. Please check this before driving if you have a -1 fitment. If required, the bar is solid and the end can be ground to make a amall amount of room for your particular rim.

This bar won the 2014 G-Street SCCA National Championship. Congratulations to Mark Scroggs!"

Andrew P. was 170th place at nationals in PAX. I see no argument for making GS index any tougher but maybe easier.

Given time to test.. Id have tried yours stiffer in the rear.. I like a tad more lift/oversteer. The pull from mid corner without wheel spin and full throttle was quiet amazing.

7mm/.0.275 variance. You could machine a little bit off. I did that with some RPF 1s (you did it actually, I think)

Or, I think the OZ is available in the exact offset
