So, is it pretty fast/fun? Do you actually have to brake?

Yeah, brakes are necessary, but it's really easy to overbrake. For guys like us, the karts could be faster, for sure. But it's fun, and it really does help with precision driving. A few inches can make a big difference.

I ran about the same time as Eric 25.4, 25.3 something like that. I'm about 250.

edit: oh also, the brakes are on the rear axle, so if you brake and turn too much at the same time, you're going to slide and scrub a ton of speed.

Cool. I hate the ones where you can just pin the throttle and never move it as long as you're taking a decent line.

Run the one with the stripped out steering wheel. That was definitely a challenge...

Ran a couple races there today. Very fun. Got into the 26s... Like a 26.4 I think. Saw that cathers and Jed were on the top score sheets for the week.

We had a blast Saturday night. We had 11 ETR people there running. That was my first time there and I will definitely be back. Those things are a workout and definitely a challenge to drive quickly. I spun coming off the fast section into the braking zone on my first lap. You definitely have to be easy on the brakes. I felt good to get down to a 25.6 on my last session. The leader board had some down into the high 24s. With some practice and some luck on getting a clear track, I think I can manage a low 25 but those high 24s would be really tough.

I agree. I'm 240 lbs and can't break a 25.7xx no matter what I do there...

Weight is definitely a factor, but it isn't as obvious as I had hoped. I haven't really be able to gain much ground on heavier people in the straight. I'd also take a weight penalty to be able to get up on the wheel better.

I was there Friday night with my friend Issac Teasdale. Isaac is a professional motocross racer. He is 135 lbs soaking wet. Within two runs of each other, he set the second fastest time of the week at 25.010. Twice.

I watched and tried to learn some, as I was .7 off him, but I just couldn't see a difference in what we were doing. I have to chalk up the 7 tenths to our 100 pound weight difference.

Also, James was pretty high up on the list, very low 25's I think. I see you Cathers...

Yeah. I'll be back as well. That was a lot of fun.
Those seats in those aren't forgiving. I'm pretty sure I'm bruised on my shoulder blades.
