New Daily Driver (Focus ST)

Post by disneyd »

As much as I liked most everything about the Mazda 3 as a daily driver, I didn't like the lack of power.

So, a good opportunity came along and now I have a Focus ST. :)

Since it's my DD I don't plan to do much to it. However, the previous owner hacked up the original axle back exhaust. So, if any of you Focus ST guys replaced anything back there and want rid of it the original, lemme know.

No, but the current muffler the car has on it isn't quite "whistle tips" but I'd rather put it back to stock if I can.

JB, if you or Scott have a factory exhaust you want rid of let me know, or if anyone knows of one for sale somewhere...

well.. in order to get the original off.. and NOT take the rear subframe down, I had to cut it in half. however, I think I do have both pieces.. Ill have to look.
Scott is still running his original last of season..

FYI... a Roush system really opened the car up and power comes in a lot sooner!!
a. lot.
and the car lost an additional 19 lbs.

Yeah, after doing some reading it looks like everyone cuts theirs off because of that. If you have both halves and want rid of them, let me know.

I'll have to take a ride in your car and see how loud it is. I don't mind a louder exhaust, but for this car I can't tolerate something that drones badly in 6th gear on the interstate.
