Anyone have a shock gauge? ~400 psi/no loss air chuck

Post by thrdeye »

Anyone have something like this that I could use for a few mins or know a shop that might? I have a suspicion that my shocks have too much gas in them.

Just let all the gas out... only half kidding. Some use degassed shocks to lower the car.

Yeah, my Konis on the RX8 were degassed. I've been doing a lot of reading about cavitation on degassed shocks. So far cavitation seems like a really bad thing, but I know there are arguments both ways. I think I'm going to lower these to 100 PSI, which is the minimum that JRZ will still cover them under warranty. When built, they requested the shocks at 190PSI. But I'm thinking JRD Netherlands ignored that request since the car is sitting a bit higher than stock.

I found one on Summit that wasn't too expensive. Maybe I'll rent it out :-D

I've got one for bicycle shocks. It only goes to 120psi, though. Also you would lose a bunch of air. Pretty much zero help.

I have one for my air rifles. It goes to 5000 since max pressure I need to feed the tank is 4500psi.

Might need some adapters. Too much???

And Summit rocks. The gauge is already in - less than 24 hours from order to arrival.

If you need nitrogen at any time. I've got small portable tanks and regulators to charge shocks with. I'll probably have with me at events.
