Frank Rouser

Post by joe henslee »

For you long time ETR members, I just learned of the passing of Frank Rouser. Frank served on our club & ETR board for many year in the 60's, 70's, and well into the eighties. He auto crossed an original, then new Mini Cooper S in 1967 and beyond and later Rabbits. I met Frank when I was 15 years old ..... he was an inspiration and a dear friend. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Frank was a hell of a great guy. Sad to hear of his passing. Thoughts and prayers to all in his family, even the family he wasn't related to like us car folks family. :(

Yes, some of my VW collection was Frank's at one time.

Sorry to hear this but his was a life well lived. Great guy and a great competitor. He is the one I was shooting for when I started building my car. Everybody told me I would get stiff competition from "Daddy Rabbit".

I'll bet he is telling stories with Jim Hawkins about now.

I met Frank way back in 1977 at an autocross at Sevierville Airport. I have many fond memories from autocross's to our Friday after work meals at the Tic Toc or Shoneys. Frank would always say, "I am just out here trying to beat my last time", or "I am just out here tryinng to learn how to drive". He always said that with a grin.. funny how that worked out to a bunch of trophies.
Frank also showed me the fine art of brewing and appreciating good coffee.
Prayers for his family and extended gearhead family as well.
