Encountered some traffic on the way to Dixie Lee Junction on Kingston Pike but nothing that was that big a deal. Got nearly 2 minutes of totality. Really glad I didn't miss it. It was definitely something to see. :-)

Went to Walmart in LC and was not lonely. Hundreds of folks parked all over the lot and I was by the place where we used to do tech for the Adesa event. Traffic on the west side of Knoxville was bad, but Waze took me on a few surface streets and I missed just about all of it. 75 started backing up right at the LC exit, so no problem there, either. It was a short two minutes of totality, but worth the 4 hours of driving to see it. Seven years until the next one, but that will require a bit more travel to see it.

Yeah, the 2024 eclipse hits places like Austin, TX, Dallas, Hot Springs, AR, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Buffalo, and Montreal. So 8-hour drive for me. But maybe we'll head to Killeen, TX for that one with our daughter, Killeen!

It was really cool, but any more than a couple of hours I don't think I could justify it. Especially considering the unpredictable weather.

As long as life doesn't get in the way, I think I will travel for the 2024 event. I wasn't that excited about it but after experiencing this one, I would definitely do it again.

We went to Sweetwater valley farms.. $ for the three of us and that included glasses. Wasn't as packed as we thought, but was busy.
Great viewing and the place had plenty of clean restrooms, good food and cold snow cones and ice cream. Nothing was crazy expensive either.
Have to talk to Kim about the 2024 event. I think that's in New York maybe? We can take the rv

I tried to tell ya'll my work location was one of the best and access from interstate or back roads was awesome. once it started the birds flew to roost, the bugs chirped and street lights came on. it got dark and we all went wow!!. Then came the diamond or star and all over. plus the firework store blew off a bunch of fireworks.
