Trailer rental

Ok, so I'm planning ahead for Nationals.

I know we're going to have the big tent that we'll go in on but I'm thinking about keeping cool. More importantly, keeping Kim and our new dog cool and it if the sun when they want to be.

My first choice is to find someone local that's wanting to co drive the car at Nationals and their "fee" would be getting the car out there if they had a trailer and Kim and I would pull the camper out and meet there.

If that doesn't happen..... Are there any companies that rent enclosed car trailers?

Thoughts, ideas, options, ??

Chasity has rented online, I think at rvshare or something like that for the past couple of years. I know Lin amd Jeff have been renting from a dealer in Lincoln.

I'm confused. Can you not tow behind the RV?

Where does the enclosed trailer rental fall in? In lieu of the travel trailer?

edit: it seems the easiest open would be to rent/borrow (assuming you don't have one) whatever open trailer you can get, then renting one of the overnight stay setups in Lincoln.

Or selling your current trailer (and truck?) and buying an RV and whatever trailer you want?

Ok....
What I have is...
truck... 37 ft 5th wheel camper. No pulling behind that camper.

As it stands right now this is what I'm trying to figure out.

Plan A is to find a local guy that would like to co-drive my car that also has a trailer that he/she could take the car out to Lincoln, while I'm pulling my 5th wheel camper.
Plan B is to pull out the camper and end up co-driving with someone else.

Plan C - would be to get a pet friendly hotel and tow the car out. THAT is where the "Does anyone RENT enclosed car trailers" comes into play. That way, We could pull the car out in it and have an air-conditioned car trailer for Kim and the pup to sit inside if it gets too hot.

I don't want to assume anyone is going to be there that will have a trailer that they be ok with a dog being in that they don't know.
If we had a class A, I'd just go get a nice open trailer and pull it out there and be done.

Anyway.... doesn't sound like Plan A or C is working out so far. I'll likely try to hit up a couple people I know that run SSR and ask for a co-drive. SSP might work too. MAYBE CAM-S or C depending on the car.

Ok,

so as an update... looks like I'm either going to find a co-drive in SSR if possible, or find another ride. I have a couple options so we'll see.

Found a nice campground not far from site that is decently priced and has a dog park, so that's a plus.

If you're camping, I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to stay on-site?

We camp on site and go to the truck stop right down the road to shower each night and I think that is the best way to go.

not interested in renting / buying a generator big enough to run the camper and it's AC and residential fridge for the week . It's cheaper to stay at the campground. Under $500 for the week and it will be quieter. I don't mind the noise overall, but This is going to be one of our weeks of vacation, so some quiet will be good too...lol

plus... not wanting to deal with flushing the black tank there or having to get water thru the week. I've heard horror stories about the tank flushes going bad with the porta john guys not knowing RVs well for that kinda thing.

PLUS... having a dog park area that Kim can take her to while I'm busy if she needs to run is nice.

uh... thought they added a dog park to the Lincoln Nats area?? I haven't gone walking a dog but others have. I'm feeling there is a whole lotta misinformation or misunderstanding happening..

It is your vacation and you should do it exactly how you want, but I think you would be hard pressed to make the logistics more complicated. :)
