Stress on engine during autocross.
The most important thing for me is tires. Those don't last long at all on the STi. Do I get more tire??
Actually completely off subject and now that I have mentioned tires.. I have been looking at getting some good street tires to use for rain events next year. The Toyo's and Dunlop's have been at the top of my list. Anyone here use both of those yet?

Aren't GS-D3s supposed to be the end-all, be-all rain tire? I think I've read that more than once...gbwrx wrote:The most important thing for me is tires. Those don't last long at all on the STi. Do I get more tire??

I think after WBHS (Mini event) this past season, I am never taking the V710s off the car (for autocross). That was a freakin' lake and I was stupified by the amount of grip they still generated. I suppose Pelli's lot, being less porous, might not be as wet-friendly, but until I have a budget for an R-rain tire (RA-1 etc.) then the Kumhos will get the nod vs. any street tire.
Not sure if those are what come on the new STi's but mine came with Potenza RE070s.lcoleman wrote:Aren't GS-D3s supposed to be the end-all, be-all rain tire? My Hoosiers did pretty good at the last PSTCC rain event after I got the pressures somewhat good. I was just thinking about getting something for massive rain events. I am still thinking about getting some Hoosier Wets but I don't think I would be using them at local events unless I have already used them at a Pro or Tour already.Wheelman_13 wrote:I think after WBHS (Mini event) this past season, I am never taking the V710s off the car (for autocross). I think until you get to the point that you're good enough to win free tires on a regular basis, a good set of ST tires will be better....you can drive them daily and run them in the rain. Everyone's budget is different, but as infrequently as you would see rain, your pimpy wet-R's might be crap by the second time you get to use them.
